How does an “online cleanse” work?
You’ll register, get access to our Member’s Portal, and will carve out 10 (or 5!) days to plan your meals, bolster your nutrients, and get healthy. We’ll give you recipes, meal planners, grocery lists, a discussion group, a nutrient library, and daily emails that will offer your support and guidance. You can also order the pre-prepared food if you live in Washington, DC.
What is “Prep Day”?
Prep day is the designated day, the day before your cleanse begins, when you PREPARE. It will make your cleanse experience so much easier. You’ll receive a Prep Day email from us, and will also have a link to a Prep Day page, and this will give you step by step instructions on what to do!
Will I follow a set meal plan? Or can I decide what I get to eat?
We have a seasonal meal plan all ready to go for you, should you want it. But you can also create your own meal plan and eat what you want, as long as it follows the guidelines!
What will I be eating?
Tons of veggies, fruits, greens, seeds, nuts. You can eat legumes and limited gluten-free grains, like quinoa and brown rice. You may have limited fish and eggs.
What will I NOT be eating?
You will eliminate gluten, dairy, sugar, alcohol, coffee, meat, processed foods, and processed soy.
What are the benefits of cleansing?
You’ll experience increased energy and vitality, be more focused and less foggy, will possibly lose a few pounds, will bolster your immune system, clear up your skin, sleep more deeply, reduce cravings, regenerate cells, and will generally GLOW!
Does EVERYONE have these results?
About 95% of our participants do experience these benefits by the end of day 10. If it’s your first time, it may take longer to feel better, because the “detox” will be more significant.
I’ve heard you talk about bio-individuality. What does that mean exactly?
Each of us is different. Some of us need more protein, and others can survive with heaps of greens as protein. Some of us will experience a massive coffee withdrawal, while others ease out of that habit more quickly. A big part of this experience is learning about your body and your digestive system and what works for you. We want to help you find YOUR right path towards better health.
Speaking of Coffee, I’m terrified to drop it!
For many, letting go of this habits is one of the most free-ing parts of the cleanse! If you do it right, it will go fine. I highly recommend weaning yourself slowly off caffeine before the cleanse, even if you are going to drink green tea during the cleanse. This ends up being the hardest part of the cleanse for many people if they don’t give themselves enough time. Be prepared for headaches, and in some cases, nausea. It can take a week or more. But if you do it slowly, it’s really not bad and you’ll find that your energy levels are much more even, and your anxiety reduced.
Does signing up for the cleanse mean I get food delivered, too?
No, you need to buy the food delivery separately. Food delivery is only available in the DC metro area.
Does buying the Food Delivery mean I’m automatically included in the Cleanse Program?
No, you have to buy them both separately! It you just buy the food, you won’t get the daily emails or have access to the Member’s Portal and recipes.
Is your program for women and men?
Yes. We have a special love for women, we’ll admit it (being a woman-owned business and all.) About 90% of our participants are women. But we really do LOVE our men, too! Please join us!
Can I sign up and cleanse whenever I want?
Right now, we just do “community cleanses”, where we set the date, and you join us for those dates. But coming this summer, we’ll be offering “Flex Cleanses”, too, where you can sign up and join anytime you want. But we’ll continue our quarterly anti-inflammatory Community Cleanses!
What if I want to do a “community cleanse” for a set date, but I have to travel in the middle, or I need to start a day late?
This is really common. You’ll receive a daily email from me, which you can read on the day that you’re on. So if you need to start a day or two late and do your prep day, say, on Monday, and start on Tuesday, just read the “Prep Day” email Monday and the “Day 1” email Tuesday, no problem. I give you 4 extra days of Membership Portal access after the cleanse ends (for 10-day cleanses), to compensate for this.
