Holiday Hors D’Oeuvres Board
December is such a celebratory and festive time of year. We love to entertain and be with family and friends, enjoying the season, each other, and good food. I don’t know about you, but I often allow myself to over-indulge a little, and then I don’t feel so great. So Little Green has created the most beautiful and delicious (and guilt-free!) Holiday Hors D’Oeuvres board with which to wow! your guests. This can either be a stand alone cocktail party, or as a precursor to a holiday meal.
The Holiday Hors D’oeuvres Board:
green and black olives
sliced red pear
hummus with carrots, radishes, and cherry tomatoes (top your hummus with olive oil, pine nuts, and a shake of smoked paprika)
salted pecans or almonds
cucumber slices with smoked salmon and a dab of lime crema (recipe below!) and lime zest
Recipe for Lime Crema:
3/4 cup raw cashews, soaked for 2-3 hours
lime zest from 2 limes
juice from 2 limes (about 3 Tbsp.)
1/4 tsp. sea salt
1/2 avocado (or 2 Tbsp.)
1 small clove garlic, roughly chopped
6 Tbsp. water, added to blender 1 at a time.
Add first 7 ingredients to blender and mix. Begin adding Tablespoons of water and continue blending/adding until consistency is slightly pourable.
Arrange all these colorful, beautiful components on a large board or platter, and serve with a glass of Rose Prosecco with pomegranate seeds! Happy Holidays!
